Tom Burkett's Bio

Energy, ethics and integrity, combined with knowledge of the local luxury market in the Tampa Bay area along with his people and negotiating skills, assures Tom of unrivaled, continued success. Having grown up in the Tampa Bay area for over 40 years his personal knowledge base of affluent and connected potential buyers, his reputation for discretion, especially when dealing with high-profile clients, are also key factors contributing to his accomplishments.

In early 2006, as his sales were accruing rapidly and his reputation as a highly respected member of the Tampa Bay area realtor elite was forming, Tom began collaboration on his idea of forming a luxury portfolio of some of the area’s premier properties and marketing them as a gallery of fine homes. Soon after “The Burkett Collection” was born. The “Collection” represents the highest level of clientele and their properties and specializes in the marketing and acquisition of extraordinary land and estates. The “Collection” is regularly featured in eminent publications, including DuPont Registry- a buyer’s gallery of fine homes, Style Magazines and others.

Tom graduated from the Florida State University in Tallahassee in 1987, earning his B.A. degree in Marketing and Sales Management. Prior to beginning his career in real estate, he worked over 8 years in the Financial Services business and became a Senior Branch Manager for a fortune 500 company as well as an Investment advisor with Drexel Burham Lambert. He went on to become a founder of a successful inbound call marketing center and Internet marketing company with over 55 employees before being bought out. It was this experience that taught him the importance of marketing exposure and accountability.

Aside from his real estate career, Tom is a devoted father of two teenaged daughters and loves sharing quality and leisure time with them. He also has completed numerous Triathlons and shares his passion for NASCAR, Pro football, College football and soccer with his entire family. Energetic and athletic, he enjoys exercising, boating and living in paradise here in the Tampa Bay area.
